General Rafael Uribe uribe generates health proposal for workers -
1915
Approves the law 57 of medical and pharmaceutical assistance and indemnifies it in case of death or disability -
1934
Creation of the labor office, which fulfills the function of recognizing accidents at work and related diseases. Eventually it was called the National Office of Medicine and Industrial Hygiene and was incorporated into the Ministry of Labor as a Department of Occupational Medicine with qualification functions and evaluation of work accidents and occupational diseases. -
1935
Labor legislation is established which includes occupational risks -
1938
In 1938, according to Law 53, it is stipulated that pregnant women should be given special protection giving them the right to eight weeks of paid leave at the time of childbirth. -
1946
The Colombian Society of Occupational Medicine is created, which promotes occupational medicine -
1949
Begins the service of the IIS operating with the only health and disease insurance -
1950
In this same year there was a clear attention in relation to occupational accidents and diseases, the first table of occupational diseases is adopted and what is considered as temporary disability, partial permanent disability, total permanent disability and great disability is categorized . -
1951
The proposal of uribe uribe is approved before the congress, which forces the companies to render the medical service, in addition to paying indemnities in case of disability or death -
1954
The health ministry develops an occupational health plan, to train Colombian professionals. the CONALPRA entity is created -
1961
An Occupational Health Division was created in the Ministry of Labor, which was responsible for the prevention and control of work accidents and occupational diseases. -
1975
The Government issued regulations in occupational health -
1979
Law 9 of 1979, which is a very important law since until now it is still in force called the National Health Code, where it gives the guidelines regarding the preservation, conservation and improvement of the health of the individuals in their occupations
it is known resolution on safety in work establishments -
1984
Decree 614 of March 14, 1984, issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, by which the bases for the organization and administration of Occupational Health in the country are determined. -
1986
the organization and functioning of the joint commission's of occupational health are regulated -
1989
Resolution 1016 of March 31 of 1989, issued by the Minister of Labor and Social Security and Ministry of Health, which regulates the organization, operation and form of Occupational Health Programs that should be developed by employers in the country. -
1990
law 10 -By which the National Health System is reorganized and other provisions are issued -

The right to work is considered as a social obligation and enjoys state protection -

Resolution 1075 of March 24 regulates activities in occupational health -
