Birth
I was born February 8, 1997. I was a pretty big baby, weighing 8 pounds and 11 ounces and being 22 inches long. When I was born, the umbilical cord was wrapped around my neck. I was announced dead on arrival. -
Baby Brother
Right after I turned 4 years old, on March 1, 2001, my brother was born. He was a very small baby. I was excited to be a big sister. -
Father
7 months after my brother was born, my father passed away. He had very bad asthma and it was the cause. I was only 4 years old, and I was confused and devastated. -
Samantha
When I was 10 years old, I met a girl named Sam. We instantly became best friends. She is still my best friend to this day. She has helped me through so much in my life and I don't know what I would do without her. -
Gilbert High School
In 2011, I started high school. A lot of my friends from junior high all got split up so I only knew a few people going into high school. I was a pretty introverted kid so I was very nervous to start a new school with so many older kids that I didn't know. -
Theatre
My freshman year, I became involved in theatre. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have been doing it all four years of high school now and have become extremely involved. I am now Vice President of the entire program. It has really helped shape me into the person I am today. -
Great-grandparents
Right around that time, my great-grandfather passed away. About a year later, my great-grandmother also passed away. That was a really difficult time in my life because they both meant so much to me. I felt lost without them. They really made me into the person I am today. -
License
The day I turned 16, I went to take my driving test and passed. I was so excited to finally have my license. It gave me more freedom to start going wherever and whenever I wanted. I was started to feel like an adult. -
Sonic Drive-In
I have been working at Sonic Drive-In for about two years now. I hold the position of Crew Leader and I really enjoy it. I like working hard to earn money for things that I need. Once I started working there, I had to start paying a couple bills. It's really taught me a lot more responsibility and opened my eyes to how the real world is. -
Colorado
Around the time my junior year started, my grand-parents moved out to Colorado. They got a big ranch and a lot of cattle and horses. My family and I go up there and visit them whenever we have the chance. I love it up there. It's so nice and peaceful where they live. I wouldn't mind living there someday.
