I was baptised on June 28 at 6:30 p.m. The priest was Father Joseph Lutz.

First Christmas

I went to my Great Grandmas in Valparaiso for Christmas. Apparently I found cousin Eric in the Santa Costume a little scary, and "had issues when all the presents were gone".

First ever birthday party!

It kind of sucked. I was little, needed a nap, and there were too many people there. And on top of that, I didn't know what the cake was, so I just started poking it with a spoon.

Le Annoying Harmonica

I found one of my grandpa's harmonicas and started playing it. Well, maybe not playing it, but messing with it. Then Grandpa thought it would be a good idea to get me my own. Mom was NOT happy.

Delaware #1

I go to visit my Aunt Michelle for the first time in Delaware. I don't remember much of it (obviously) but I do know that it was the first of quite a few trips up that way.

The circus

I go to my first circus with my grandparents. Apparently I ate about 100 bucks of cotton candy.

Another Birthday Party

At this party I wasn't so cranky, and I definetly knew what to do with the cake. When I got the presents I would just throw the clothes to one side, except for my teletubbies sweatshirt (I was only 3) which mom had to buy a second one of so that she could wash it.

Play-Doh

I get my super awesome Play-Doh. Mom said that that's when I started using my imagination.

I go missing

We had a neighbor who would always take me to go get ice cream. Well one day she was late so I just went over to their house. Mom had no idea where I was until she called and said I headed over that way.

First Family Reunion

We Move

We moved from our house on Linn St. in Shannon to a place out in the country. I wasn't a fan of it, but then I got to have my room repainted, so that changed my mind.

Golfin

When I was 5 Dad started teaching me how to golf. Back then he was really into it, so he wanted me to learn.

Kindergarten

I start going to school at Aquin Jr. High. I really miss kindergarten becuase I really want nap time back!

I lose my first tooth

I was in Kindergarten and was listening to the story when my tooth fell out. I didn't freak out because a couple of kids had already lost theirs.

I lose my second tooth

This one kind of freaked me out because it happened when I was brushing my teeth. I thought I was brushing too hard, so for a week after that I was afraid to brush my teeth.

Delaware #2

For my second trip up to Delaware we go to Rehobeth beach. I thought this trip was especially fun because it was the first time on a charter bus and a plane.

Altar Serving

I start Altar Serving at St. Wendelin's Catholic Church in Shannon. I technically wasn't supposed to, but they were pressed for Altar Servers. This is kind of weird, because they still are and I train them now.

Spanish

Aquin decides that we should start taking spanish classes. I hated them, because it was basically "do this worksheet and maybe I'll answer your question...maybe."

Reconciliation

In second grade they started teaching us what to do for Reconciliation. A lot of us were freaked out, and the priest came out of the confessional looking a little scared at one point.

First Communion

After we finished with Reconciliation, we started focusing on our first Communion. This was a big deal for us, and a friend of mine made a big production out of the fact that he got wine.

Baseball

I never really wanted to play baseball, but then one day I come out of school and Dad tell's me I'm signed up. I was never very good, but still played until about 6th grade.

My grandma and I went up to the Coronado theater and saw David Copperfield do his magic stuff. She was convinced that we were going to get picked for audience participation even though we were in the balcony.

Captain

In the summer of 06 we got our dog, Captain. He belonged to a guy Dad and I were doing work for, and he wanted to give the dog away, so we took him in.

Petition

Back in fifth grade I was big into strawberry milk. So I started a petition to see how many people would sign it. I didn't expect it to go far, but I got about 200 of the 250 kids to sign it, and we wound up getting the strawberry milk.

Messin with Yeoman

In 4th grade our teacher. Mrs. Yeoman, was REALLY annoying, se we decided to mess with her. She had a clip on microphone, that's right, microphone, to talk to her class of 20 students. She didn't have a condition where she needed it or anything, she just had it, so we'd hide it. It was funny, because we think she'd even forget to turn it on sometimes in the first place...

Weird Al

I go to my first concert, which was Weird Al Yankovich on his Straight outta Lynwood tour. It was in Waukegan, IL, and I thought it was awesome that I got to stay up until about two in the morning.

Our cat

In the summer of '08 this cat started hanging around the house. It seemed nice enough so we'd hang out with it. Then one day Mom decided to bring her in the house, and we just kept her.

Trombone

In the Summer of '12 I go to a Jimmy Buffett concert as a 12th birthday present. Mom didn't think I should go until I was about 9 years older, but we see how well that went.

Eastland

I start my first year at Eastland, which was convenient since my grandparents live across the street from the middle school. That was the year that I started football and wrestling.

Spelling bee

In the spelling bee in 7th grade I came in 2nd place. This was a little weird to me, because at Aquin you either won or lost, so that was a little different.

One fateful Steelers-Packers game, I got a little cocky and made a bet with Mr. Crase. If the Steelers won he'd have to wear a Polamalu jersey, and if the Packers won, Id have to wear a Matthews jersey. Unfortunately the Packers won, but fortunately, all pictures of it have gone missing.

Wrestling win

During the one meet a year that was at Eastland I wrestled a kid that was later nicknamed "the Indian Marshmallow". I wrestled him and won after about a minute,which didn't mean I was good, it meant he was bad. That was the only win I'd have that year.

Wrestling Conference

In 2011 I had a much better season. I finished 9-6, including three times that I had to wrestle in a higher weight class than I was. Then in conference my first match was against the famous "Indian Marshmallow" so that went quick. I won a couple more matches and went 3 periods with a kid from Winnebago to win conference.

Confirmation

I was able to be confirmed by the church a couple years early since I went to Aquin for grade school. It was at St. Thomas in Freeport, and I was the only one from my church so it was kind of awkward.

8th grade spelling bee

I wound up getting third place in this one, but it took a couple days to confirm that because I had to duck out before the spelling bee was finished for a wrestling meet.

Permit!!!

Stay off the road, I'm finally able to drive!!! I tried driving Dad's Kia Soul stick shift a couple days later, didn't go so well. I'm fine with it now, but it was a little scary at first when the tires squealed.

Drivers Ed
