We chose it because Mexico manages to be Spain-free and accomplish a democratic government -

The first president of Mexico is elected (Guadalupe Victoria).
We chose it because it marked a new era to Mexico as a new country -
Mexican-American War
Armed conflict between the United States of America and the United Mexican States (Mexico) from 1846 to 1848. It followed in the wake of the 1845 American annexation of the independent Republic of Texas, which Mexico still considered its northeastern province and a part of its territory after its de facto secession in the 1836 Texas Revolution a decade earlier.
We chose this because that was the time in which Mexico lost a significant portion of territory -
Juarez Law
The Juárez Law is approved, which tries to eliminate the vestiges of colonialism and promote equality, by means of which all citizens are considered equal before the law, suppressing therefore the privileges of the clergy and the army. It also declares that neither marriages nor burials are matters of the clergy, but the State, which takes away from it an important source of income that has had for more than three hundred years
We chose this because this law took away the church's privileges -

This was a confrontation between the French army and the mexican army.
We chose this event because after that Battle the mexicans became way much more patriotic. -

Creation of the Mexican Bank

During the Second World War, German submarines sank two Mexican ships, so President Manuel Avila Camacho declared war on the axis countries, and ordered the 201nd squad to participate in the war by joining the allies

Tlatelolco's Massacre
Peaceful student demonstration in "La Plaza de las Tres Culturas" which ended with the government opening fire. Approximately 400 lost their lives that day.
We chose it because it marked the student social circles for life. -
Earthquake
This earthquake originated in the Pacific ocean. It had a magnitude of 8.1 in the scale Richter. Approximately there were 45,000 dead and about 30,000 injured.
We chose this event because it was the day many people died, and the first time we saw the consolidation of the mexican people. -
NAFTA
This is an agreement between USA, Canada, and Mexico. The objective is to be able to export and freely import different products with these countries. This agreement helps Mexico generate resources.
We chose it because it was a big opportunity of Mexico to foster the country's economy. -
Bronco
For the first time in Mexico, an independent candidate won a governor's election. On June 7, the citizens of Nuevo León elected Jaime Rodríguez Calderón, the Bronco, as their state agent, who did a good part of their campaign through Facebook and Twitter.
We chose this event because it is the first time that a political party does not win the elections. -
Earthquake
The earthquake struck on September 19, 2017 with an estimated magnitude of 7.1. Its epicenter was about 55 km south of Puebla. More than 40 buildings collapsed, about 370 people were killed by the earthquake and building collapses, including 228 in Mexico City, and more than 6,000 people were injured.
We chose this event because impressively it occurred on the 32nd anniversary of the 1985 Mexico City earthquake. This will be remembered as a day of sadness and sorrow. -
