A group of creoles including Agustin Itrrubide, Miguel Hidalgo, and Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez got together for "book club" meetings. They were really planning a war against the Spanish crown which ruled them. -

Initiation: Conspiracy was discovered
Doña Josefa's husband told the peninsulares off of the creole plan to attack the spanish crown. Doña Josefa heard about the spanish discovering their conspiracy and went against her husbands rules to inform Allende and Hidalgo about the Spanish trying to stop their plans. -
Initiation: Grito de Dolores
In Guanajuato, Miguel Hidalgo along side Ignacio Allende shouted for liberty in Mexico. This initiated the run of war of independence, uniting creoles and Indians under one same cause against the Spanish. This was known as the grito de independecia or grito de dolores. -
Initiation: First battle begins
The first fight in the war of independence was fought in Guanajuato against the Spanish army. Hidalgo approached San Miguel de Allende and attacked to take it from the Spanish Peninsulares to have control of all of Guanajuato. -
Initiation: Battle of Monte de las Cruces
Battle of Monte de las Cruces were the rebel army defeated the Spanish. He later retreaded and went against the suggestions of Allende. -
Initiation: Hidalgo is captured
Hidalgo and his army were moving to Guadalajara, Spanish forces caught up with the rebels, general callejo was aided by an explosion of the rebel ammo cart. Hidalgo and his soldiers were captured in state of Coahuila at the Norias of Baján. -

Consolidation: Death of Hidalgo
Hidalgo was tried for treason and excecuted after a trial at the stake in Guanajuato. After Hidalgo's death Jose Maria Morelos who was leading the movement in the south took charge of the Independence armies. -
Consolidation: Congress of Chilpancingo
Jose Maria Morelos lead the Congress of Chilpancingo known as the 3rd campaign. This was the begginging of te leadership of Morles in the Mexican independece after the death of Miguel Hidalgo. Here the Mexicans drafted a constitution for when they became independent. -
Consolidation: Constitution of Apatzingán
After the Congress of Chilpancingo Morelos and his men met again under one roof to create a constitution for when they became indpendent. This constitution was called the constitution of Apatzigán which stated the 3 branches of the government as well as the rules and laws for the Mexican people. -
Consolidation: Death of Jose Maria Morelos
Jose Maria was caught by the Spanish in Tezamalaca during battle where Jose Maria was taken over. He was excecuted and killed on this day. -

Consummation: Plan de Iguala
Iturbide and Guerrero meet to create the Plan de Iguala and the Army of the Three Guarantees was created. Guerrero finally fell into Iturbides power because Iturbide promised independence on his own terms. The command of the Army was in Iturbides hands. -
Consummation: Mexico gains independence
The ejercito de las tres garantias lead by Agustin de Iturbide marched into Mexico City. This showing they now had control over the country of Mexico and the Spanish had no power here any more. Mexico is now Independent.
