Spaniards began to take over a lot of the privileges that the Criollos enjoyed. Different important people of the Criollos Background joined together and they talked about wanting to get rid of the Spaniards in New spain so they could be able to have the positions that they deserved. -

The 3rd of September of 1821, the 11 year war finally came to an end when Iturbide entered Mexico city. The treaty of cordoba was signed which made Mexico independent, and the spanish withdrew their troops from Mexico.
