Vladek's father begins starving Vladek, preventing him from sleeping, and pulling out his teeth, much like he did to Vladek's brother, Marcus, in order to try to keep Vladek weak so he will not be taken during his Army examination three months later.

Anja goes to the hospital in Czechoslovakia and on the train, they see the town centre has the Nazi flag. They spend 3 months in hospital and are ready to go back home.

Vladek is in the army against Germany.

WW2 began & Vladek was captured as a war prisoner for 6 months. He volunteered for labour assignments to replace German workers who were called to the Front.

Vladek is released from prison camp &, he is able to go back home. Richieu is two and a half years old.

All Jews in the Zawiercie Ghetto are sent to Auschwitz. Tosha poisoned her children and Vladek’s son Richieu to avoid the gas chambers.

Anja and Vladek are sent to Auschwitz; they then are separated. Vladek stays in Auschwitz 1, while Anja is sent to Birkenau.

Vladek gets a letter from Anja from a woman at the camp.

Vladek’s friend Mandelbaum dies.

Vladek teaches the supervisor in English in exchange for food and clothes.

After Vladek becomes the tinman, he has chances to go to Birkenau, where Anja is. They see each other several times.

Vladek gives over bribes in order to bring Anja closer to him. On October 7. 1944, finally, Anja is moved to Auschwitz with other thousands of women.

Everyone was evacuated from Auschwitz and was forced to march to Gruss-Rosen in Germany. People sick and can't move was killed

They move from Gross-Rosen to Dachau and wait to die. Prisoners become very sick and start to die of typhus and are put on the train to Switzerland.

Vladek is saved by U.S. soldiers a few days after Germany surrenders. He is safe.

WW2 Ends.

Vladek moved to a displaced person camp in Garmisch, where he becomes sick with typhus and diabetes.

Vladek travels back to Sosnowiec to reunite with Anja.

After reuniting, Anja and Vladek decide to move to Sweden. They start their new life there.

Spiegelman's family moves to the U.S; they settle in Rego Park, NY. Vladek stays there for the rest of his life.

Anja couldn't live with the memories of Auschwitz and committed suicide.

Vladek begins telling his story, which is mainly about his life during World War II. Artie writes all of them down. They then become the words for Maus.

Vladek Spiegelman died of congestive heart failure. He is buried together with Anja. This is the end of Vladek's story.
