The americans gained more land from the mexican cession. But it was hard trying to make a deal with the mexicans, soon a war broke out. Then the treaty of guadulupe Hidalgo was declared and it stopped the war and the americans gained the new land. -
Gadsen Purchase
The gadsen purchase was a small but vital piece of land to the americans. But the americans had to buy it from Mexico for 10 million. Soon the americans paid and gained the land. This land was used for transcontinentinal railroads becaused of the flatness in the lands. -
Oregon Territory
Oregon was an unowned territory until the United States found it. The american sooned recognized the state and omitted it into the United States.
