Thomas Jefferson bought the Lousiana purchase from Napoleon for 15 million dollars. He bought it from Napoleon so he could fund his conquest in Europe. The Lousiana Purchase was good for America because it bought us new land and it was progress for the United States. -
Treaty of Gudalupe-Heldago (Political)
This treaty Mexico gave up 500,000 miles of the U.S. AKA California, Utah, and Nevada, It is part of Arizona, Colorado, Whyoming, New Mexico. Mexico accepted that the Rio Grande was the Southern border of Texas. This lead the country into civil war becasue now that the U.S was from sea to sea they didn't know where slavery should be allowed. This would lead the country into another battle called the Civil War. This was not good for U.S history it lead into another war. -
