  • Mexico's Independence

    Mexico's Independence
    1810-1821
    Mexico fought for its independence from the Spanish Crown, and became a sovereign country.
  • Independence of Texas

    Independence of Texas
    Texas disagreed the new Mexico politics, and after a year of war, it finally became the Independent Republic of Texas, bur after a few years, it became part of United States.
  • American-Mexican War and Mexican Cession

    American-Mexican War and Mexican Cession
    1846-1848
    United States was interested in annexing California, Arizona and New Mexico, and then it declared the war to Mexico. We fought hard, but we lost the half of our territory
  • Reforma War

    Reforma War
    1858-1861
    Mexico was divided in two groups, the liberals, who wanted to change some laws and separate the church of the state. And the conservators, who wanted to protect their benefits from the laws reform.
  • Second Mexican Empire

    Second Mexican Empire
    1864-1867
    After the Reforma War, the conservators brought an austriac aristocrat named Maximiliano de Habsburgo, to be the monarch of the Second Mexican Empire.
    He was shot in the Cerro de las Campanas by order of the general Mariano Escobedo
  • Porfiriato

    1877-1911
    After the death of Benito Juarez and derrocating Sebastian Lerdo de Tejada, the general Porfirio Diaz assumed the presidency for almost 30 years. During this period, Mexico was industrializated, it had a great economic power and every was in calmed.
  • Mexican Revolution

    1910-1917
    Francisco I. Madero began a coup against the Diaz government, demanding that the president can only rule for no more of 6 years, in 1911, DIaz quit the presidency, but the war continued because of the emptiness of power.
  • Constitution of 1917

    This event finished the Mexican Revolution, modifying and applying new laws, it was redacted by Venustiano Carranza
  • Cristero War

    1926-1929
    This war was caused by the new laws that the president Plutarco Elias Calles imposed to remove the benefits of the church, the cristeros made a war against the new laws.
  • Maximato

    This period started with the president Emilio Portes Gil, that was a puppet of the past president Plutarco Elias Calles, who controlled him and the next two presidents, he was known as "Jefe Maximo de la Revolución".

    This was the period when Lazaro Cardenas was the president of Mexico, as president, he exiled Plutarco Elias Calles, expropriated the mexican oil, he created organizations like the CNC and the CTM
  • Mexico during the WW2 and the Milagro Mexicano

    Mexico during the WW2 and the Milagro Mexicano
    1940-1946
    In the WW2, Mexico declared itself as neutral, but, after aleman submarines attacked a mexican oil rig, we were part of the Allies, the president Manuel Ávila Camacho sent the squad 204 to help the allied forces in the Pacific Ocean. During this period, Mexico increased its economy, we supplied the allied army with products of first necessity, while all the fabrics of other countries were producing war supplies.
  • Tlatelolco Massacre

    During a revolt of students and teachers, the mexican army killed more than 300 people, this was by order of the president Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, this is remembered as one of the worst things that a mexican president did.
