First Day of Pre-K
This was the school I went to while I was in Pre-School. My first day of Pre-K was both exciting and nerve racking; however, it was crucial in my learning of social skills. -
Email
I was finally allowed to make myself a Yahoo account. This was my first step in becoming familiar with computers. -
Presentation
I never liked speaking in front of people, but I had to get over that after finding out I had to give a speech in front of my whole class. Even though I was nervous, this helped improve my social skills because I was able to get feedback and become better at public speaking. -
Facebook Account
This was my next step in becoming familiar with working computers and social media. My mother decided to let me create a Facebook account after I had been begging her for a few months. I felt like the coolest kid in my class because none of my friends had an account. -
First Day of High School
High school was a big deal for me. Walking into that building was definitely a moment I will never forget because I was terrified. I had to learn how to communicate in a new setting with new teachers and many more students than I was used to. -
First Big Purchase
I finally bought a designer bag after saving my weekly allowances, birthday, and Christmas money. Although I was always tempted to spend my money, I knew I would need to keep saving if I wanted the purse. -
Excel
I took a class my junior year in high school and I had to learn how to use Excel. This, in my opinion, was a big step in learning more about computer systems and programs. -
First Bank Account
With this bank account I had to make sure I never went over my available balance. I had to be responsible and keep track of my expenses. -
Loans
In order to pay for tuition and fees at the University of Houston I had to take out two small loans. I took a "class" online about interest rates and other things that are important when dealing with loans in order to actually receive them.
