Healthy Eating:
-Eat regularly
-Avoid fast food
-Watch alcohol intake

-Have set days to workout

-Don't use drugs such as tobacco
-Don't drive while distracted
-Maintain good hygiene
-Protect yourself from environmental hazards, like the sun
-Have a primary health care provider -

30's
The main concerns/focuses for my 30's will be to try to maintain a healthy weight and work around a slowing metabolism.
Healthy Eating:
-Reduce amount of sodium in diet
-Meet daily requirements of vegetable and fruit intake
-Find a source for essential vitamins
Physical Activity:
-Exercise regularly (30-60 min. a day)
-Work out with a buddy
Preventative Health Care:
-Reduce stress
-Monitor BMI, blood pressure, & cholesterol levels
-Check with doctor about gynecological exams, clinic breast exam -
Period: to
40's
The main focus in this decade will be taking preventative measures against health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, & many types of cancer.
Healthy Eating:
-Monitor blood glucose levels & cholesterol
Physical Activity:
-Get at least 30 min. of physical activity on most days of the week
-Avoid overworking joints and tendons
-Monitor BMI
Preventative Health Care:
-See a doctor & dentist regularly
-Reduce stress
-Monitor mental health such as anxiety & depression -
Period: to
50's
The main focus in this decade will be to monitor for health problems while accepting the fact that aging is inevitable.
Healthy Eating:
-Cut back on sodium & foods high in fat
-Take in enough Omega 3s
-Drink alcohol in moderation
Physical Activity:
-Get 30-60 min. of activity on most days
-Challenge your mind as well as your body
Preventative Health Care:
-Get enough sleep
-Ask health care provider about routine exams, screenings, & immunizations -
Period: to
60's
The main focus in this decade will be to monitor health problems, getting enough exercise, and have a good relationship with health care providers.
Healthy Eating:
-Fruits & Veggies: 4-5 servings/day
-Whole grains: 3 servings/day
-Low fat dairy: 2 servings/day
-46 grams of protein/day
Physical Activity:
-30 min. of exercise on most days
Preventative Heath Care:
-Tell doctor about all medications
-See health care provider regularly
-Maintain a healthy weight
-Drink in moderation
