Life of Sarah Hussain

  • Prenatal

    Mother found out about pregnant with me, third child on the way, She was hoping for a boy because she had 2 girls already.
    She recieved good prenatal care in Malta, family moved there because of fathers work. Uneventful pregnancy.
  • Day I was born!!

    The day I was born in Malta. Very smooth delivery process.
    Very happy and easily manageable baby according to mom.

    0-2 years (Psychosocial development)

    I had a lot of stranger anxiety but was close to grand father and the oldest sister. I was toilet trained by late grandmother around 9 months.

    0-2 years (Cognitive Development)

    All my milestones were on track except talking,Upto almost 2 years of age,I use to point on things and don't say much except with grand father. But with the help and encouragement of family memebers i started talking around 2 years.

    0-2 years ( Biosocial Development)

    Starting from the very first day I never troubled my mom for anything. Very content baby, but she had to send me to be under care of my Grandparents who lived in Pakistan, because they had to wind up from Malta to go back home. So I was with my grand mother who took care of me and when my mom came I would not go to her , she was a total stranger for me.
  • Moved to Pakistan

    I was moved to Pakistan under sole care of grandmother. Parents were busy moving back to native country so left me under care of Grandma thousand miles away.
  • First baby tooth

    First tooth eruption. I had this milestone with my Grandparents around me .
  • Parents move back to Pakistan.

    Finally my parents came into my picture, but I used to think my grand parents were my real parents according to my mom.
  • A very Sad Day

    Death of grandmother due to Diabetic Ketoacidosis she was the primary caregiver for me. People told me I just looked for her for many days and got sad because could not find her anywhere.

    Early Childood, 2-6 years (Biosocial development)

    I was a good eater, and was right handed. Was a little over weight but slowly lost weight though my apetite stayed good.

    I was a shy kid when it came to talk to other people. I used to get scared of my kindergarten teacher because she shouted in the class. I was a very reserved child, didnt share any feeling of sadness and anger with anyone even with my younger sister or grandfather.

    In this time span most incredible that happened to me when I started Montessori, when my mom came to pick me up I asked her to go back home. I simply loved to stay in school, though didnt make friends but loved the teacher and the toys there.
  • Birth of Sister

    Mother's concentration moved to a new sibling but as she grew older we became very good and caring friends.
  • Ended up in ER due to asthma attack

    Terrible coughing led me to the hospital for emergency treatment and was diagnosed asthma.
  • Started Kindergarten

    I was promoted to Kindergarten, Used to love school.

    Middle Childhood 6-11 years (Biosocial Development)

    I simply loved to bike in our backyard, I used to play tag, and on the swingset with my sister and brother.
    I had my first dental checkup and vision test in this span which I hated. I never liked to go hospitals.

    In school I was very hardworking, always got A's was best student of the class. Teacher liked me because I completed homework on time.

    Middle Childhood 6-11 years (Psychosocial Development)

    I was getting closer to my dad although he did not had much time with us because of work, I started sharing housework with sisters, used to Iron uniforms, clean kitchen counters and dining tables. Sometimes when maid skipped a day I use to do brooming and dusting.
  • Lost my First molar

    I was really surprised to have my tooth fallen. I though I am very old;)
  • Birth of brother

    A little baby came into my life, I used to care for him a lot.
  • Won School art Competetion

    I was awarded best Caligraphy award. One of the joyful day in my life.
  • Started Middle School

    Started to work harder in school to achieve the dreams to get into a good institution.

    Adolescence (Biosocial development)

    One of the biggest change was puberty in this phase. In our envoirment mothers wont talk to daughters.
    Thanks to my older sister who talked about stuff to me and reassured me through this phase. I developed a big appetite was a little plump at this stage.

    Adolescence (Cognitive Development)

    I was a very hard working student though my best friends were not into studying much. I was a very obedient child. Had good grades and doing very well in artclass. Did a lot of major projects like making posters for a show entrance etc.

    Adolescene (Psychosocial Development)

    A very best friend left me for another friend. Was very traumatic for me. I was really sad those days. I mostly focused myself studying good in order to get attention from parents. At this time I started realizing how I look. Am I fat? unattractive unlike my older sisters. Would only be expressive to my friends.
    I never made friends who were very good looking.
  • Another Sad Day!!

    My Grand father Dies, He was a second parent to me , we use to live together and was seeking attention from him all the time.
  • Entered High School

    The new era for me to study hard and harder in order to get into Medical School.

    Emerging Adulthood (Biosocial development)

    I graduated and got admitted into Medical School after endless hard work. I was very excited when in the bus they called us Doctor Sarah. Only thing that made me sad was I wanted to go another higher end Medical school on merit basis and was on a waiting list but my call never came. Had a lot of elementary and high school frieds there. Had a hard time coping.

    Emerging Adulthood (Cognitive Development)

    In medical school I felt very alone and this affected my academic performance. I found the subjects very hard to follow. Finally I got mixed with a group of friends but got closer to only one girl who was the total opposite of me. She was pretty, confident and daring. Now I have adjusted to the new enviorment I am doing better in academics but not that I expected of my self.

    Emerging Adulthood (Psychosocial Development)

    All I was involved with study and friends. Had a lot of fun in the middle years. One incident happened the second oral exam of my final professional exam, my car that I parked outside the teacing hospital under a tree, heaviest bark of the tree broke and fell on my car wrecking it. That incident kept me very anxious after for a long time. Two week later my dad got me engaged to an unknown person, That rose my anxiety to the highest level. After getting married I moved to US.
  • Started Medical School

    Finally My hard work payed off, got admitted into medcial school on basis of Merit.
  • A memorable trip with parents and two younger siblings.

    A very memorable trip for me. Went to meet uncles in London, England and to Los Angeles California to enjoy the Disney alnd and other fun parks.
  • Got my license to drive.

    I got my license to drive and used to take the car to university especially if staying late for hospital shifts.
  • Car incident sparing me.

    A weird accident happened wrecking my dads car. A tree broke and fell off on it breaking the roof and seats and steering wheels. My parents were glad that I was not in the car.
  • Engaged to be married

    I was engaged to be married to aperson I have not seen and talked to ever. Just after finishing my final exam.
  • Graduation Day

    Finally big day after so much hard work. I am officialy a Medical school diploma holder.
  • Married to Azhar

    The day my life took a big turn, got married and moved to United States in 3 weeks.
  • Moved for a new life

    Moved with husband to Taylor, Michigan. Had been to US (Illinois, California, Nebraska) many times but never Michigan.

    Got married, Gave birth to three kids. Gained a ot lof weight.
    Stopped taking care of myself. Busy with kids all the time. I got glasses after my first pregnancy. I am not into much physical activity besides my house work and children.Gynecological issues are arising. Aches and pains here and there coping with raising kids and trying to find a job.

    My memory is declining. I am hard working still but have to struggle a lot. I have to help kids stay good in studies for a promising future. I am getting more mature and frequently talk to kids how improve themselves overall as a person. Trying my best to equalize everything I am responsible for.

    I am enjoying my kids growing better then ever, it reminds me of my childhood lot of times. My relationship is getting better with my husband. My kids are my friends we share everything. My parents are aging that makes me worried abut them. Me and my siblings discuss life's Challenges and how to manage them.
  • Birth of First Child "Sofia"

    My First experience of going through the process of giving and holding a tiny life depending completely on me.
  • Daughter started preschool

    My child went to preschool, the whole 3 hours I stayed in the car in school's parking lot, worrying about her.
  • Birth of second daughter "Hafsa"

    My cute second child was born.
  • moving in a New House

    Bought a new house moved to a different city.
  • Birth of son "Umar"

    Birth of my beloved son.
  • Started my first course in US.

    Took Statistics as a first course in US as a first step towards a new career.
  • Got a decent job.

    My first daughter entering high school that is a huge milestone for me as well.

    It is my second daughter to go to high school.

    My memory is detoriating it is still good for few things bad for most. I write down everything to remember because I dont trust myself. I talk to my husband about my childhood a lot.

    I get sad if my kids dont call or come to visit me. Me and my husband keep ourselves busy with housework and community volunteer work like in public library. I go out with my girl friends regularly. I spend a lot of time praying. I enjoy with my kids and grandkids help them with planing parties.

    I'm trying to keep up with my age's limiting factors. Joint pain, cataract and High Blood pressure. I hate to take pills but my diet is healthy my exercise schdule keeps me going. I am young at heart when I look at my photos I try to see myself younger looking comparing to friends of same age. I get sick easier then before. But I do take calcium and other vitamins. I still drive fast I feel as if there is no change in me by age. I dye my hair to look younger. My sleep is good mostly.
  • Husband gets retired

    Husband gets retired but still works some twice weekly job to keep him busy and healthy.
  • Move to a smaller house

    We decide to decrease our house work by buying a smaller house good for just two of us.
  • I get retired

    I get retired and enjoying r.elaxing at home
  • Diagnosed with Hypertension

    After mutiple BP checks diagnosed with Silent Killer Hypertension.
  • Period: to

    Death and Dying

    I pray to God for an easy death and place in heaven with peace.
    I also try to keep myself ready for when the time comes. Talk to my kids about my life and discuss about my priorities if something happens to me. Asking them to pray for me and their Dad when we are gone.
  • Time to leave this world

    I died peacefully while asleep in a blessed and special month.
