My first day of high school was nerve racking after coming from a graduating middle school class of 3, but luckly I had my best friend Ashley right by my side! Learning how to open my locker (which took about 3 weeks) and where my classes took place were just the first steps of the journey I had just begun at Verot. -

I made the freshman cheerleading team (along with everyone else who tried out) on August 16th, 2012. Joining a team within the first few weeks of school helped me to make new friends and branch out since I was so shy and reluctant upon starting high school. Little did I know that cheerleading would become a huge factor in making me who I am today. -

Member of the Cheerleading Team
Being a cheerleader for all four years of high school has taught me many valuable lessons. It hasn't always been easy participating with a positive attitude all 4 years due to our constant changes in coaches; however, sticking with it has taught me dedication and the importance of cheering others on when they need a helping hand-- two important qualities that I strive to incorporate into my everyday life. -
Freshman Unite!
August 17th, 2012 was quite possibly one of the most stressful days of my high school career. I was thrown into a group of students who I had never seen just a week after my first day of high school- The Freshman Retreat. The retreat ended up being a wonderful and a vital part of my high school experience- here I made new friends, gained senior mentors, and learned what it meant to be a part of the Verot community. -
Friday Night Lights
I quickly learned the importance of being involved in everything offered on campus, and started to make the most out of Verot. I atttended every sporting event, joined clubs, and began to make memories that I will never forget. "Life is not about the destination, it's about the journey that gets you there." -
Pig Dissection Days Over
I had made it through my Freshman year with all A's (except for Honors Bio) and continued to enjoy the newfound friends I had made at Verot. Nevertheless, I was more than ready for the summer full of rest that was awaiting me! -
Long Awaited Goal
Induction into the National Honor Society was one of my main goals upon entering high school, so it was a huge accomplishment when I was inducted on March 9th, 2014. My hard work had finally paid off and I was extremely proud! -

Member of National Honor Society
Being a member of the National Honor Society has provided me with the opportunity to serve at a variety of different of organizations and has revealed to me that a huge passion of mine is helping others. I am now the chair of NHS's service projects at the Ronald McDonald house, an organization that is meaningful to me, and hope to continue serving here in years to come! -
Continued Success
Just shortly after my induction into NHS, I received an invitation to attend the Scholar's Banquet, a ceremony for kids who had upheld a 4.25+ GPA all year, and I was ecstatic. My midde school was so small that my accomplishments there were never recognized, and I was so proud that all my hard work was finally noticed. After the banquet, I made it a goal for myself to work even harder and be invited back each year; I attended again my Junior year and am on track to attend my Senior year as well. -
Saving Babies!
http://www.leememorial.org/facilities/tchospital.asp The summer before my Junior year, I participated in a 4 month long volunteer program at Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida. The program helped remind me never to take my health or the health of those around me for granted. I learned many valuable lessons from the sweet children that I worked with as well as gaining valuable experience in medical world. -

If that wasn't bad enough, I was told that I would receive a 50% as my final exam grade if I didnt put the elephant back together and was handed nothing other than... a bottle of Elmer's glue. Gluing my project back together, along with the class in general, taught me patience and the importance of never giving up. -
Lo Hice!
On Feburary 8th, 2015 I was inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society. For someone who entered high school not knowing a word of Spanish, induction into the society was a great accomplishment for me. This helped me to realize that if I put my mind to something, I'm capable of things I could've never imagened. -
VJ XXXVI
The Live Jesus Retreat is one of the most meaningful experiences I've had at Verot. This retreat really opened my eyes up to many things, and helped me to realize that I'm never alone. I became closer to many of my peers, and most importantly strengthened my relationship with God. -
Working Girl!
http://www.chocolattes.biz On May 12, 2015 I got my first formal job as a barista at Chocolattes Coffee Shop. Each employee works their shift alone and is in charge of everything at the shop such as preparing the drinks and food, cleaning, and balancing the cash register. For this reason, working at Chocolattes has taught me independence and responsibility, as well as preparing me to hold other (and hopefully more challenging) jobs later in life. -
Yellow Shirts... for a Week Straight?
During my Junior year, I was granted a Rotary scholarship to attend the Seminar 4 Tomorrow's Leaders, a week-long leadership camp in Lakeland, Florida. I didn't want to attend the "boring" seminar at first, but the week ended up being a great experience with tons of life lessons, and even a bit of fun! I learned so much at the camp, from tips for being sucessful in the buisness world to the best way to shake someone's hand, while also making friends that I will keep for a lifetime! -
Vroom Vroom!
My parents have always required me to save half of all birthday and Christmas money that I receive, and I finally got to put this all to use on August 1st, 2015! I used my own money to make a down payment on my 2009 VW Bettle, and continue to work to pay for my own car payments and gas money. Buying my own car has taught me the importance of saving money and managing it well, and has shown me the rewards of doing so as well. -
You Wish You Were a Senior!
My first last day of high school was bitter sweet; I was starting my last year at Verot with the same people I ended my first year with-- something that not everyone is able to say. My journey at Verot has shaped me into the person I am today, and I have had experiences that I wouldn't have been able to have at any other school. It's time for me to make the best out of every second I have left in high school, and I'm determined to make them all count! -

Leading the Freshman Retreat was even better than attending the first time. I learned so much from my amazing group of girls and am beyond thankful for them. Being a leader and talking with my freshman taught me that you never really know what troubles someone may be facing in their personal life, and for this reason it's extremely important to show compassion to everyone.
