Exact date unknown. One day Leonardo’s father Ser Piero said he would find a painter to paint a shield for a neighbor. Then he forgot all about it. One day Leonardo found it. Then his father told him to try to paint it himself. He tried and ended up impressing his father and himself. -

Since Leonardo was good at art his father paid for an apprenticeship. So then Leonardo got to be the apprentice of another artist. He was one of the apprentices of an artist named Andrea del Verrocchio. He was known as “one of the most highly esteemed instructors in every branch of the arts.” -

Many people hated the family that was ruling. That family was the Medici. The Pazzi wanted to rule instead. They quickly were able to find allies to help overthrow the Medici because lots of people didn’t like them. They had to kill both of the brothers but they failed. -

the move to milan
Exact date unknown. Leonardo was starting to get mad about how other scholars were more famous than him. Plus some of these artists only had half of the talent he had. He hated the king which was still Lorenzo de Medici. Also he was kind of poor so he decided to move to Milan. -

Leonardo was asked to make a bronze horse. He had finished the model out of clay. Then war came along and interrupted him. Then people started practicing shooting arrows on the clay horse and Leonardo never got to finish it. -

Leonardo was asked to make a painting of “the last supper” on the wall of the church. He worked on it harder than he probably ever would have on any other painting. This piece of art he concentrated more on than anything else around him. People say that this was his best piece of artwork he had done yet. -
