Invention of the Light Microscope
1590, two men makers, Zaccharias Janssen and his son Hans, while experimenting with several lenses in a tube, discovered -
Zacharias Janssen
He invented the microscope by combining two convex lenses within a tube. Zacharias Janssen worked with Hans when he invented the microscope. His lenses were encased in a two-tube system that allowed for many times more magnification than other microscopes of the time. -
Robert hooke
Robert discovered the cellular composition of cork and introduced the word cell to science.Robet noticed that it was made up of "boxes" and named theese cells. He discovered this by looking the cork under a newly developed microscope. -
Anton van Leeuwenhoek
He was the first person to see bacteria. He made observations of a lot of bloodcells in fish, birds, frogs, and humans. Improved magnification of microscopes by polishing lenses. -
Matthias Schleiden
Matthias Schleiden discovered that all plants were made up of cells. He found out that the cells are the smallest unit of living things. Cells can only come from existing cells. -
Theodor Schwann
he was the one who wrote the first two parts of the cell theory. He figured that all animal tissues are made up of cells. He discovering the striated muscle in the upper esophagus. -
Rudolph Virchow
He wrote the third part of the cell theory. He saw that cells could only come from eisting cells. he figured that phlebitis, is the inflammation of a vein, causes most diseases. -
Louis Pasteur
known for his discoveries of the principles of vaccination. he "pasteurization", a process by which harmful microbes in value food products are destroyed using heat, without destroying the food. -
Invention of the Electron Microscope
An electron microscope is a type of microscope that uses a beam of electrons to create an image of the specimen. It is capable of much higher magnifications and has a greater resolving power than a light microscope, allowing it to see much smaller objects in finer detail. So people could see smaller things with out trouble
