GUATEMALA WITH ITS PROVINCES
Chiapas, Soconusco, El Salvador,

defend itself better from Spain. One year later, Guatemala and its provinces
formed an independent state, of federal character, with the name of United
Provinces of the Center of America, being its capital city of Guatemala. -
THE VICTORY OF ECUADOR IN PICHINCHA
The meeting, which took place in the context of the Spanish-American wars of independence, pitted the independence army under the command of Venezuelan Marshal Antonio José de Sucre and the royalist army commanded by Commander Melchor Aymerich.
