PARC VS Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
In 1972, a U.S. District Court judge ruled that the Pennsylvania education law was deemed unconstitutional and children with disabilities must be given access to the public school system . This case is important to special education because it gave all students with a disability or the same right to an education as their non disabled peers.

Danny R.R. v State Board of Education
The court ruled in favor of the school district. The court felt the school was in a better position to determine the educational needs of the student.
This case is important because it helps to determine what is a free appropriate education when students are not able to participate in the general education setting and a more restrictive environment is necessary in order for the students individual needs to be met.
