    French and Indian War
    1754-1763:The French and the British wanted control of land, the Native Americans were in between of it all. So many Native Americans allied with the French. The Natives suffered a higher level of violence, taking the Natives lands for the religious and economical purposes, and favored segregation between them and the Natives. The French treated the Natives with lower level of violence, focused more on establishing trade settlements with the Natives, and favored intermarriage among themselves.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    After Britain won the War. The British king ordered all colonists to stay east of the Appalachian Mountains.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was to pay for the debt from the French and Indian War. Colonists protested and refused to pay. It was repealed in 1766.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    Parliament passed a law that all printed materials were taxed. Such as magazines, newspapers, books, court documents, contracts, and land deeds. The colonists refused to use stamps, and harassed stamp distributors, which led to riots.This act was repealed on March 18, 1766.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Sons of Liberty took protesting so far, that they dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor during the night. The Sons of Liberty didn't know the effects of this event.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    American version of the Coercive Acts which Parliament passed. They were used to punish the colonies for their acts. It caused violence.
  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
    Britain took extreme measures after the Tea Party and closed the port of Boston for trade until all of the damage tea was paid for. The increased power of expense for assemblies and town meetings. They also sent troops and warships.
