This invention ended the era of having to harvest farmed goods by hand. Now you could machanicly harvest much more food in much less time with much less work. This was i big inavasion in the agracultural world in America. -
The Erie Canal
Proposed in 1808 and completed in 1825, the canal links the waters of Lake Erie in the west to the Hudson River in the east. An engineering marvel when it was built. Increased trade opertunities and therefor boosted the US economy. -
Railroad Locomotive
Peter Cooper invented the Railroad Locomotive in 1830. the train was named "Tom Thumb." Helped encourage settlement in the west and made easy travel for goods and people from city to city. -
The Telegraph
Invented by Samuel F.B. Morse. the first message was sent in 1844. This was the first means of long distance communication in America. -
Sewing Machine
Invented by Elias Howe in 1845. The sewing machime allowed people to make their own clothes with ease in their homes. Also a boost to the textile business. -
Telephone
The telephone was an even bigger improvment then the telegrapph. Now you could make calls in stead of using Morse code to comunicate across distances.
