Jackson Adams Calculus Review Journal

  • Basic Integration Techniques

    Basic Integration Techniques
Today we started our review with basic integration. We were also introduced to the time toast review journal project. Now I'll have a premanent record of my math related escapades.
  • Differential Equations

    Differential Equations
Today we looked at integrating exponential and logistic functions as well as basic differential equations. We reviewed the integration from yesterday as well. Also, the clock was discovered to be slow, and I made up an assignment I missed last thursday. I need to start looking at logistic and exponential growth.

    Math Review

  • Serious Series

    Serious Series
Today we got a master table for series review. We also had a Euler's method mind jog, and covered a bit of review for tomorrows big game. May the best man win. I actually remember almost all of the tests, even the pesky integral test.
  • Big Game

    Big Game
We went big game hunting today. We had a big calculus game today. We hunted down the right answers and ultimately I feel it went very well. Now I will continue to review for the superbowl in may.
  • Taylor and Power Series

    Taylor and Power Series
We reviewed the taylor series stuff. As it was the unit in which I recieved my lowest test score it reminded me that I need to do some serious review. I have to be able to manipulate them too, I'm sure there will be several mulitple choice questions on Maclaurin polynomials.
  • Partner AP Test

    Partner AP Test
Today we started our partner AP test. It was arduous but me and Kastner are confident we got most if not all problems correct. There was also a lot of review homework. So there was more review. And we reviewed with the review materials. Review, review, review...all work and no play makes Jack(son) a dull boy.
  • Partner test day 2

    Partner test day 2
Today we finished up the multiple choice section (specifically the no calculator section) of the partner AP test. There were numerous problems that were similar to the take home AP test as well as our homework from tonight so that was confidence instilling.
  • Law Day

    Law Day
Today I was not in math. It was law day. But I happen to suspect that the rest of the class practiced advanced integration. That's what I did for the homework we were given.
  • Series Revisit

    Series Revisit
We went back over series today. Those Taylor polynomials can be a real stick in the mud. I have to go back and memorize as many as possible because it is simply too time consuming to have to write every thing out on the test.
  • Making the grade.

    Making the grade.
We got back our partner graded tests as well as our take home ones and wow, just wow. Why is it that mathematics seems to lead one to an answer that must be absolutely accurate and it's just plain wrong.
  • AP PSych exam

    AP PSych exam
Though I was out I used the time I had after my psych exam to brush up on some of the things I had missed on my take home exam. I started looking feverishly over the KYSC sheet.
  • The calm before the storm

    The calm before the storm
I have practically memorized every character on the KYSC sheet. In class we went for a walk and got pencils. I thought we'd get laser beams, but I suppose I wasn't too disappointed. I mean, I don't think scantrons can scan laser marks.
  • That wasn't so bad

    That wasn't so bad
The test was a test. Boring, but nice to be done with. I ran out of time completeing the calculator free response but I don't think I missed out on too much.
  • What more is there to do in life

What more is there to do in life
Without an AP calc exam to study for, is there meaning in life? Oh yeah, preparing for more advanced math!
  • Stat test

    Stat test
Absolutely no calculus was on this test. Ok so it was a bit dissappointing.
