In Hawii at Pearl Harbor, the Japenes launched a suprise attack on the U.S. military base killing 2300 people. I woke up from rest to the sounds of sirens and screaming thinking it was just a drill, but as a I walked outside and saw the gound come up from under me, I knew I wasn't dreaming. -

The president proclaimed that when the U.S. is at war or is threatned by a foreign nation, all natives and citizens of that nation can be apprehended. When I heard what the president said about us, it hurt my feelings. Why should me and my family be punished just because of where we come from? I thought I should be proud of being Japenese. I guess not. -

The attorney general stops any travel by "enemies" and orders the consification of all weapons of all japenese people. I awoke to a hard knock at the door, my husband was not home from work yet. I walk to the door and these big men with guns were staring back at me. They knew my husband's job required a gun so they stormed into our room, and took our only source of protection. -

The first large population of Japenese people were sent to the temporary detention center Manzanar. Where two-thirds were American citizens.
When I got to the place my mom said was going to be our new home for a while, it was not what I expected. There were sad faces everywhere, and no toys to make them all happy. -

The Secretary of War formed an all Japanese combat team inlcuding people from the mainlad and hawii to help gather up the Japanese and put the into camps.
I knew it was wrong to betray my people. But my parents are dead and I have no one else. I will not go into a cage like a dog. I will stand up and fight for someting, even if it's not the right thing. -

All Japanese people 17 and older had to answer a loyalty questionnaire to prove they would not attack the U.S. I always hated taking tests in school. How dare these people question my loyalty. I was born in the U.S. but I will always be loyal to Japan. If it came down to it, I'd fight for my people. But that's our little secret. -
Landing on the Beach of Freedom: A Soldiers Downfall.

The Allies crossed the English channel and landed on the beaches of Normandy to fight for freedom from the Nazis. When we landed on the beaches of Normandy I was only wishing I was just here to sit in the sun and swim in the beautiful ocean. But we were here for a bigger reason, to fight for freedom. As I was looking into the water I heard a boom, and felt a sharp pain. I looked down and realized my arm was gone. -

The Supreme Court makes a ruling that a group of people can be singled out and arrested and helt without trial for however long they choose based solely on ancestory.
Being a judge, I consider myself pretty smart. This decision is the right one. We need to contain the problem, before it spreads. -
Smiles: Finally Free.

The german Army retreated back to Germany and while the American Army liberated the Dachua concentration camp. We had been stuck here for so long. Finally to see the American Army come to save us was a miricle. We were free, free to go back home and be ourselves. I had not smiled in a long time. -
Peace at Last: The Japanese Surrender.

Japan had surrendered unconditionally to the Allies effectively ending WWII.
I was finally over. I didn't have to fight anymore. I could go home and see my family. They surrendered with sad faces and heavy heads. WWII was over.
