  • Meeting my Husband

    Meeting my Husband
The reason I am traveling to America, is to meet my husband with our rich land that he has claimed! He has garrentied a great peice of land from our agent. The journey is long from Russia to California where he is at.
  • The Travel Across Seas

    The Travel Across Seas
We had to sail on a miserable boat for two weeks. The room was quite cramped, and the boat creeked back and forth from the rolling of the water below us. I would rather starve here on this boat rather then to eat that horid slump of "food" they serve. I am lucky i am still breathing though, becasue most people have gotten very ill and some have died right here on this boat to America.
  • Job offer

    Job offer
After staying here in Brooklyn for about to weeks now, i have been offerd a job as a House wife. These jobs were paid very low in wage and can barely pay for food and evryday needs. Atleast i get to stay warm in this up-town house during the day. My plan is to keep this job untill i have earned enough money to catch a ride West to meet up with my husband.
  • Act/Law

    Act/Law
A law that effected me while I was on the way West was the Act of 1871; criminals who are put into jail get a trial on their case, people who show risk for rebellion or any risk get these right ambolished. These effected me on the road to land becasue many people were willing to kill for land, so many crimes were happening all around me!
  • Meeting the Missionaries

    Meeting the Missionaries
After about two months of this exhausting job, I'm so thankful I recignized my friend Renezmay from my former county, Russia. She has ventured into america to spread our religon to the new land. We hugged and I greeted with the rest of her missionary group. Once they found out I was Russian the warmly requested I come along with them to the West. I ran into back into my house, packed my things, and ran after Renezmay and made my way to the West.
  • The Journey to Cali

    The Journey to Cali
I saw my old friend Renezmay and other missionaries yesterday and they offerd to take me along on their way west. Its my first day on the road and my feet already hurt. This is only day one out of probably a thousdand more before meeting my husband again in California.
  • On the Road

    On the Road
My travel West is terrible, I have to deal with the hot summer, grasshopper infestations, praire fires, and a couple occurences with the Native Americans. Luckly Franklyn, a friendly missionary, beleives that a town is coming up so we can rest in better conditions.
  • Missionary Attack

    Missionary Attack
We have settled in a nice hotel for the past day, and we have been inertacting with some local Native Americans. When I heard a scream outside along with some gun shots. On the ground, dead, we found Franklyn-shot. and some Native Americans running into the forest nearby. Thats when the Native we were talking to turned and took an axe to the man next to me in disbelife i screamed and ran to the nearest shelter.
  • Home Seet Home

    Home Seet Home
After recovering from our loss in the missionaries., who was left trodge on. 18 days later I was reunited with my husband! But I couldn't beleive my eyes when i saw the land that he had gotten for us. He said that the agent had riped us of, gaven us cheap land! this is what was happening to travelers all around us on the trail.
  • A Small Family

    A Small Family
We are now settled into our cozy house here in California with our four kids! We defently need to work consntley to keep our big family going. Many families here are facing the same troubles. We have to start completly over and build evrything from nothing. I think that is going to be our biggest struggle of all.
