Getting on th boat
More Ellis IslandThe boat was small and croweded and everyone was coughing and dirty. Ths was all my parents could aford though and I was thankful to get that much. -
Getting to America
Elis IslandI arrived in America at Ellis Island. I was very nervous and overwhelmed. There were so mny people and so many things to do. -
Finding a Job and a home
Ellis IslandIt took a few days to find a home in New York City but eventually this family let me stay in there apartment with them. It wass even harder to find a job but the Shirt waist factory about 3 miles away was hiring and I waited in line long enough and got the job. -
Missing my Family
Ellis Island FamiliesGrowing up I was always with my family and they were there for me for everything. Now I cannot talk to them at all, ofr here there voice I mis them terribly and I am really uset. -
My mother died
Ellis IslandDispite all of he money I was sending my family to help my mother, she at 67 years old died of a horrible diease in December of of 1854. This was the first time I tlked to my family since I arrived in America.
