On my way to New york City through Ellis island
On my way to new York city April 25 1879. I was one of the 12 million people to cross Ellis island to the new york harbor. We all got checked to see if we had a sickness some people did. The people that checked me and look weird at me. I left this country to go to new York for the jobs. I hope to gain a good friend and a nice family. -
Getting on my feet in NYC
Getting on my feet April 27 1879. I got a job a construction one. The other workers and I have to build 1,000's of feet high buildings. It was hard because we had to walk on the steel beams and if you fall you are going to die a hard death. The wage I get is $2 a day. i think it is a good wage based on my position. -
Friends
Friends June 14 1883 . I met some friends from my wife and some I made a work. It is easy to get to know your workers and become friends. You can friends up there because you work like 12 hours. Some of them I met on the way of crossing Ellis island. We all started talking on the job and got along good. -
Robbery
Robbery February 10 1887 . My family and I went to dinner at a restaurant next to are apartment and are waiter was Chang. Ok so when we were done we left with Chang because his shift was done so we invited him over. As we walked in the living room there was a robber stealing are stuff so I ran after him to stop him and he shot me in the leg. Then when I ran after the robber Chang snuck around and took down the robber and then my wife called the police. Then we thanked Chang and asked him if we -
My new family
Family March 5, 1887. I meet a girl walking home from my job. I met her in front of the building that we were working on. We sat down to talk while we were on a date and then the next thing I know we been dating for 1.5 years. The next date we had I asked her to marry me she said yes. Then like a year later we had twins.
