Ada Lovelace
Ada Lovelace wrote the world's first machine algorithm and has theorized a method for different engines to repeat some instructions which we to this day still use. This is important because it has made our lives more efficient when using computers since they take over simple tasks for us. She is also considered to be the world's first computer programmer. -
Charles Babbage
Charles Babbage was the first person ever to design an automatic computing engine. He was the one who developed the computer science even if he never succeeded to build it himself, but it was built by someone else in 2002 using Babbage ideas/method. His engine was supposed to calculate mathematical and astronomical tables. -
Alan Turing
Turing was a English mathematician and logician who also often got called the father of modern computing. He worked for the government during WWll to break the enemies codes and many people say he shortened the war by 2 years. He was the man who developed the idea of the modern computer and also developed the machine which helped him crack the codes. (1936 development of modern computing, 1942 broke the code) -
Internet
Bob Kahn and Vint Nerf are the names of the people who came up with internet. They developed multiple things and one of them is a communication model that set standards on how data can transfer between different networks. Today around 4.33 billion people around the world use the internet.
Then around 30 years later Bob's and Vint's "invention", a guy named Tim Berners-Lee developed it even further and created the world web. -
Microsoft Corporation
The founders of Microsoft is Bill Gates and Paul Allen and they built the world's biggest software business. This program has advanced analytical tools which gives you a chance to make financial decisions and discover patterns. It became dominant on the market also because of the command line OS DOS they did for the IBM-compatible PC. To this day it is still a really big company with a 125 billion US dollars revenue.
