Alonso Alvarez de Pineda

Sep 30, 1519

Pineda gives Spain information on the new world with his map of the Texas coastline.
Route: he started in Spain, and went along the coastline of present day Florida to Mexico.

Hernan Cortes

Oct 10, 1519

Cortes lands on the coast of mexico, ready to attack the Aztecs.
Route: Spain-Mexico

Panfo de Narvaez

Sep 30, 1527

Narvaez disaster accures. Thy lost their ships and were hit by a hurricane.
Route: Spain-Florida. The survuvors were seperated; some ended up in Texas, while the others in Mexico

Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca

Sep 30, 1528

Cabeza de Vaca starts his journey in Texas.
Route: Spain-Florida, he was one of the few that landed in Texas after the hurricane, and lived among the Native Americans.

Hernando De Soto

Sep 30, 1539

De Soto's expedition set out from Florida, to find riches in North America.
Route: Florida, throughout southeastern United States, and traveled by land to Mexico.

Francisco Vasquez de Coronado

Sep 30, 1542

Coronado gives up on Texas and returnes to Spain.
Route:Mexico up to New Mexico, through texas, up Oklahoma, into Colorado, and back to new Mexico.
He discovered the Grand Canyon.

Luis de Moscoso

Sep 30, 1592

After De soto died, Moscoso took over. They found no gold.
Route: Florida, throughout the southeastern United States, and made it by land to Mexico.

Rene Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle

Sep 30, 1685

La Salle builds the first french fort in Texas.
Route: France, missed the Mississippi by 100miles, and ended up in Matagorda Bay, Texas
