History of Computers

  • Universal Language

    Universal Language
Kurt Godel publishes a paper on using universal formal language. I think this is an important event because universal language later turns into binary coding.
  • Konrade Zuse

    Konrade Zuse
Konrade Zuse creates the Z1 Computer, a digital computer using binary punch tape. I think this is important because most computers after this followed its working system.
  • Enigma

    Enigma
Adolph Hitler uses the Enigma encryption machine. This was important because the Enigma machine would decrypt secret messages which is a key factor in computers.
  • RAM First Created

    RAM First Created
F.C. Williams creates developes the cathode-runner which leads on to the creation of Random Access Memory. This event is important because RAM is a main component in computers since they help start it. This leads on to better RAM parts.
  • Transistor Computer

    Transistor Computer
Bell Labs creates the first transistor computer. I think this is very important because it used transistors, rather than vacuum tubes that were very unpredictable.
  • NASA/ ARPA

    NASA/ ARPA
NASA and the Advanced Research Project Agency is formed. This is important because NASA is an amazing company that uses so many computers to find so much information.
  • Word Processor

    Word Processor
The first word processor is created. This is vital because word processors were the very start of the first actual computer.
  • Floppy Disk

    Floppy Disk
IBM creates the first floppy disk. I believe that this event was useful because floppy disks were one of the first magnetic storage devices created to store data.
  • E-Mail Created

    E-Mail Created
Ray Tomlinson first creates E-Mail. This is so important because email is still used today since its a great way to communicate with people.
  • Pong is Made

    Pong is Made
Atari creates the first commercial game Pong
