British Colonists Founded the Jamestown Settlement
They named it after King James the first of England. This date is important becuase It was one of the most important colonization settlements in U.S. history. Before they colonized, they sent three ships with 144 men. Although the colonists suffered swampy land,mosquitoes, and undrinkable water, they managed to actually start colonizing there while they found new natural resources. This event is also important because the colonists discovered a lot of new resources and land. -
The Boston Tea Party
This was an important date because this was one of the major events that caused the Revolutionary war. The Sons of Liberty dressed up as Mohawk Indians. The reson they did this was becuase they were angry about the tea taxes. I about three hours, 340 chests of tea was smashed and dumped on the Boston Harbor. Over 92,000 pounds of tea were smashed on the Boston Harbor. -

The American Revolution was important because It was the turning point for America. This war explains the American's feelings against the British. It was basically a war to get independence from the British. -
The Constitution Was Created
The Constitution is the highest law in the United States. On May 27th, 1787, John Dickinson, Gouverneur Morris, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Thomas Paine, Edmund Randolph, James Madison, Roger Sherman, James Wilson, and George Wythe wrote the Constitution to get their country organized. -

The Civil War was one of the earliest true industial wars. It is important becuase it was another war that declared for freedom. One of the problems was that some people liked slaves and some people did not like them at all. Another reason why the civil war started was because some states fom the south called the Confederate states was pulling apart fom America. Abraham Lincoln did not want that to happen so that was a big problem. -
The Emancipation Proclamation
The Emancipation Proclamation is important because it gives a little bit more independence for the slaves. Abraham Lincoln decreed the Emancipation Proclamation that declared slaves in all confederate states and at war with the union " forever free " to join the military. -
The First Steps on the Moon
July 20th, 1969 was a very important day for America because it was the day when Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong took the first steps on the moon. The rocket, Apollo 1 was the first space craft that landed on the moon sucessfully. -
The Crash of the Twin Towers
On September 11 2001, the two twin towers crashed by terrorists. 4 planes were hijacked. One into the World Trade Center, New York, and one plane into the Pentagon. The fourth plane crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. This was the deadliest attack ever to occur in America. That's why this day was very important. A lot of heroes/volenteers died, trying to save the other dangered people. -
The Tragedy of Hurricane Katrina
This date was important becuase it It was one of the five deadliest hurricanes in United States history, killing more than 1,800 people. It also caused more than $80 billion in property damage.On August 23, 2005 the hurricane was formed. -
President Obama was Elected as President
Barack Obama was U.S. senator of Illinoise. On Janurary 20, 2009, he was elected as our 44th president. Obama was the first African American president in U.S. history. He won the election by getting 67 million votes.
