Rehabilitation Act 1973- Impact on Schools
The court system ruled that students with disabilities have the same amount of rights as students that are non-disabled and should then be afforded the opportunity to advance with learning equally as peers which have no known condition. In addition, to there not being a federal law that was put into place for this ruling. However, there were students that started attending schools because of this court ruling. Historical Legal Rulings- The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 was a law which I feel marked the beginning of enabling individuals with special needs with inclusion. This law helped individuals that don’t have disabilities to take part in awareness.
