Arrive in Maui
We left Erie, PA at 7:00 am in a blizzard and arrived in Maui, HI at 4:30 pm to sun and temperatures in the upper 70s. We were greeted by a local Hawaiian with a fresh flower lei. -
Bike ride down Haleakala
Haleakala Sunrise and SunsetWe greeted the sunrise at Haleakala's highest peak (elevation 10,023 feet). Our bike tour started at Haleakala Ranch (6500 feet elevation). We descended down the exciting 21 switchbacks on the Western slopes. There was not too much pedaling involved. -
Golf at Makena Beach & Golf Resort
Golfing in Maui was truly amazing. The course was very plush. Our golf cart was equipped with a cooler that was filled with ice and 4 bottles of water. The views were absolutely amazing. At the end of our round, a gentleman gave us each a cold cloth that was dipped in spearmint and eucalyptus oils. It was heavenly. -
Old Lahaina Luau
The Old Lahaina Luau provided us with a traditional Hawaiian feast and hula. -

Road to Hana and Beyond
Life's a Trip! Enjoy the RideThe Road to Hana was a phenomenal exploration of sights and spectacular views such as Black Sand Beach and the Pools of ‘Ohe’o (Seven Sacred Pools). This legendary road is 52 miles long and has 620 curves and 59 narrow one-lane bridges. We spent the night in Hana and drove the road “Beyond Hana” back to our resort. -
Snorkeling
We finished up our week in Maui snorkeling at Ahihi Kinau Natural Area Preserve. -
Helicopter Tour
Arriving on Saturday, March 23rd on the garden isle of Kauai we experienced the ultimate sightseeing adventure of a Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tour. This is the best way to view Kauai since some areas are so remote. Geoffrey, our pilot, made it a memorable and breathtaking experience. -
Hike Waimea Canyon
Waimea Canyon, also known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, is a large canyon, approximately ten miles long and up to 3,000 feet deep, located on the western side of Kauaʻi -
Ziplining
We were “hanging loose” on our zipline treetop adventure tour through Just Live Inc. -
Hike Diamond Head
A guided hiking tour of Diamond Head Crater allowed us a glimpse into its geological and military history. -
Pearl Harbor
While in Oahu, we visited Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial, which was a very reverent experience. -
Golf at Hawaii Kai Championship Golf Course
We had to golf again while in Hawaii. We don't usually get to golf in March. This was a great course. -
Polynesian Cultural Center
Culminating our trip was a visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center, where we spent the day sharing in the arts, crafts, and cultures of these nations, which demonstrate and radiate a spirit of love and service. The “Ha: Breath of Life” show is one that should not be missed. -
Leave Hawaii
At 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 30 we boarded a plane to fly back to the mainland. We will always have our memories of this incredible trip.
