    Haitian Revolution
    Haitian Revolution has been described has one of the largest revolutions.Slaves initiated the rebellion in 1791 and by 1803 they had succeeded in ending not just slavery but French control over the colony.Haitian Revolution, however, was much more complex, consisting of several revolutions going on simultaneously. These revolutions were influenced by the French Revolution of 1789, which would come to represent a new concept of human rights, universal citizenship, and government participation.

    The First Republic had capitulated in 1812; the Second had been destroyed by royalist caudillos;Spanish expedition under General Morillo,veteran of the Peninsular War, completed the win of the revolution.After two years exile it was with the greatest difficulty that Bolivar managed to regain a foothold on the mainland. He led his men to Guayana in new and strategy,to base the revolution deep in the hinterland, among great plains of the Orinoco,a source of wealth in their reserves of livestock.

    In early 1821, Agustín de Iturbide, the leader of the Royalist forces, negotiated the Plan of Iguala with Vicente Guerrero. Under the plan, Mexico would be established as an independent constitutional monarchy, the privileged position of the Catholic Church would be maintained, and Mexicans of Spanish descent would be regarded as equal to pure Spaniards. Mexicans of mixed or pure Indian blood would have lesser rights.
