The Golden Age of Islam was roughly from the 12th to th 16th centuries. This was the time period when the Islamic people began to put together their minds and started inventing. They used their ingenuity to advance in the medical field and other sciences. They also had some huge advances in military and artillery, including the earliest stages of the torpedo. -

The invention of the Torpedo
The Torpedo was invented, in its very early stages, in the earl 1400's during the Golden Age of Islam. It was a way to put explosives in the water and in the hands of the navy. The Torpedo has obviously come a long way since its early creation and is now used in many wars worldwide. -
Torpedos were used in the attack on Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor was the attack on a naval station in Hawaii against the U.S by the Japanese Air Force. It was not only the battle which brought the U.S into WW2 but also was one of the major events where torpedos were used. The Type 91 torpedo was used. It was a wooden aerodynamic tail stabilizer to allow it to travel in shallow waters and obviously stay stabilized. -
Pearl Harbor Gets U.S involved in WW2
Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. This ignighted the flame of fury between Japan and the U.S. It lit the fuse which had been dormant for so long. With this terrible act, the U.S declared war on The Empire of Japan. -
The Cold War
The Cold War was fully political and socialogical war. This was was completely fought with propoganda and politics. It was basically a glorified game of one upmanship. This war however was fought between the U.S and the Soviet Union. -
The Fall of the Soviet Union
This was the last time that the Soviet Flag was waved. Representatives from 11 Soviet Republics annunced that they would no longer be a part of the Soviet Union. They instead, declared that they would establish a Commonwealth Of Independent States. The Soviet Union had fallen due to the great number of radical reforms.
