    Beginning of Glendale Community College
    Burgeoning City had welcomed its first community college in the west valley. It gave the community in the west valley to attend college and be able to obtain new skill sets. It hosted 1,974 students who enrolled in liberal art classes.

    John F. Prince became the first President for Glendale Community College. He made many contributions to the college and later on the campus named their library media center after him.
  • New Location

    1966, Glendale Community College had which locations from phoenix area to Glendale off of 59th Ave and Olive. At the new campus 4,082 students had enrolled at Glendale Community College. Another change for GCC to acquire more students to learn, earn a degree, or advancement with their current employer.
  • Mascot

    Glendale Community College mascot is the "Gaucho" The guacho came about due to the community college located in the west valley where cowboys were known and also inherit its South American roots from Argentina.
  • GCC first Literature Magazine

    GCC first Literature Magazine
    GCC had published their first literary magazine which was first called the "Traveler" than El Tiempo Pasando and now called the Voice. GCC having the opportunity to create literature for their students which gives students insight on what is happening at their campus and activities they can participate in the future.

    1975 Bertha Landrum became the first lady to be a Dean of instruction in Arizona for Glendale Community College.

    In the early 80's computers came out and that meant Glendale Community College had to incorporate the computers into college students studies. Installing computers at the college, helps students build computer skills, and learn new software programs for future employers.
  • Online Learning

    In the 1990's Glendale Community College goes on the Web to help provide another place where students can learn on a more flexible schedule. Glendale Community College thought of this as another way for students to look up classes, degree programs, and certifications in the comfort of their own home.
  • New Campus

    In 2007, Glendale Community College expanded it's studies to a brand new campus called Glendale Community College North. The new campus is located off of 57th Ave and Happy Valley Road. The new campus can serve more students in the Glendale North area which also means a shorter commute for the students to travel.
  • 50th Anniversary

    50th Anniversary
    Glendale Community College celebrated 50 years in the making by expanding campuses, new degree programs, and keeping up with the times. Glendale Community College is still wanting to make changes for future students to come.
