The Spice Trade
In 1571 the Spanish conquered the Philippines and sent a spanish ruler to govern the colony
The Spanish seized the Philippines because they wanted a direct trade route between Asia and there empire.
I choose this event because when the Spice Trade was going on they built trading posts around the coast, thats why the Spanish empire wanted the Philippines -
Revolutionary ideas spread
In the eary 1800's spanish colonists were inspired by the revolutionary ideas in Europe.
I choose this event because this is where Spanish colonies get there first idea of independence.
This created a lot of successful revolts in Latin America. -

The assasination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand created WWII, Austria-Hungary blamed Serbia so they declared war.

On December 25, 1991 Gorbachev resigned as president of the Soviet Union, That day declared the end of the Soviet Union.
I choose this event because the Soviet Union has been in charge for so long, it was such a relief to people when it came to an end.
