    Historical Event 1
We are just arriving in New York City and it is nothing like I have ever seen before. The entire boat was greeted by the Statue of Liberty. It is the biggest statue I have ever seen in my life. It gives me a sense of hope of me being able to have a good life. It helps a lot since I am all alone and by myself now. This is a part of my life I will never forget. I will always remember the time I came to New York.

Ellis Island is really crowded when I walked into it. Many of the immigrants from all over Europe coming here. America must be a great place to start a new life. We just arrived and people from all over are coming off of different boats. Then they would enter the giant building. I know that I am about to spend a long time in there because of all of the check-ups I will have to get. I just want to get it over with and do it as fast as possible.

I finally got out of Ellis Island I never want to go into a place like that again. I now plan to get my first job at a clothing factory. I know I will not get a high amount of pay for everday. Atleast I can still get money to support me until a get a job a really want. Then I can afford to have my own home and have clean, fresh water and healthy food for me to eat. The factory is in the middle of the city and pretty big. Hopfully there will be no fire that starts and burns down the building.

    <a href='http://www.friedmanarchives.com' >Tenements from New York
After working in the factory for a few months, I can afford to at least live in a place with a shelter. The bad part of it though is that it is a tenement. I feel so crowded in this place. I have to live with total strangers and they are from Ireland. I guess the point of an apartment is to cover my head and keep me warm which this place does do. So guess can't complain to much.I just hope I can move out of here sometime soon.

    Historical Event 5
Today, I saw tat people needed to be hired to work on the Empire State Building. I went to the destination that I had to which was the City Hall. Here, I asked if I could apply to be a worker. They had to do a small interveiw but eventually I was able to get the job. Since I started working on the building, my sallary has gotten raised. The bad thing is that the job is very dangerous. Hopfully I will stay safe and not get injured.
