    Smart Boards had started to move into classrooms once the educational technology became more accessible in the classroom. Many teachers started to transition from using dry erase boards to using Smart Boards.

    In 2014, many new applications were created and used by teachers to help students in several subjects ranging from math to reading, and science and social studies. Teachers used applications such as ReadingPlus, iReady, and similar applications to monitor student progress, chart data, assess weaknesses, and challenge students.

    Due to the rapid rise in COVID Cases, students were unable to go to their normal face-to-face teaching in person. This caused many issues in accessibility to the education students needed during an unprecedented time. (McKinsey and Company 2021).
    The idea of remote learning came about when teachers were under pressures of local and national governments to stay home to prevent exposure to COVID. Teachers had then adapted to the new normal and taught from their computers in their houses.

    Virtual Reality had been used for fun outside of school in the past. Now the use of VR is used in classrooms throughout the United States. According to the New Yorker" Optima Academy Online, an all-virtual school that was launched in 2022" and students attend virtually through their VR headsets (Green 2023).
