This was the beginning and main teaching technique for schools in the early ages. Although, these chalkboards we not as complex as the chalkboards we have today. Chalkboards was the first technology that allowed all students to visually see what they are being taught.

Radio

Overhead Projector
After the radio, classrooms started gaining the privilege of overhead projectors. Teachers could lay papers or textbooks on the projector and students would be able to see the information on the wall. This was such an advantage to teachers.

Television
Everyone today has at least one classroom that has TV access. Back in this time period, people thought that TVs were going to replace the role of teachers. Television can be used to increase students interest by visually learning about things, and can also be used for long distance learning.

Liquid Paper
This is a basic tool teachers and office workers used everyday. In 1960, a woman created the liquid paper in her kitchen. We use this liquid paint to put over mistakes made on paper. This is such a useful tool for teachers and students to use. -
Handheld Calculators and Scantrons
Handheld calculators first came out less advanced than we have today. They were created by three engineers at Texas Instruments. Teachers were not confident at first about calculators, fearing their students would forget math. Scantrons were also created at this time period, making a teachers life easier by grading tests and seeing answers quickly.

World Wide Web
Today, the Internet is the most popular resource throughout the world. Starting in 1990, students used it just like we used today. Although, there was not as much information was we have today. This was a good way for students to find quicker information than looking though a book. Students were very lucky to have this resource within their school.

Interactive Whiteboards
Today, this is something teachers use everyday. Back in 1999, they weren't as high tech, but still more advanced than a chalkboard. These first whiteboards were equipped with a touch screen, a computer, and a projector. This helped increased students learning by using hands-on techniques.

iPad
iPads today are becoming more popular in the school system than laptops and computers. Students can download apps of all different varieties to help them throughout school. They also have access to the internet to help students look up information within the matter of seconds. This little device is helping students and teachers all around the world do many more complex things than in the past.
