Jon Learns his First Obsessive Word: Begonia
When I was little, I knew I loved learning new languages and words because I would be obsessed with the way certain words sounded and say them over and over again. My mom used to garden when I was younger and she had begonias and I just thought that the word begonia was so funny. So began the year where I tormented my family by saying it incessantly. It was just the first of many words that showed how much I loved languages. -
Jon Starts Learning his First World Language
This is the year that I started 7th grade at Hammond Middle School and enrolled for my first World Language: Spanish. This is the year that started it alll for my love for languages and really influenced me to pursue more languages than just Spanish. -
Jon Travels to China
In the summer between my 8th and 9th grade years I went to China on a mission trip with my grandma and her church. I fell in love with the culture and the sights and knew that I wanted to learn Chinese. Two years later I would begin learning Chinese and then go on to study it in college. -
Jon Gets a License (Watch out other drivers)!

Jon Starts Working at Starbucks
A big part of my life and who I am was determined during my 5 years of employment at Starbucks. Many of my friends that I made were through my job and I really learned a lot about myself and my work ethic. I also met my boyfriend of 4 years while working there. I only quit when I got my first full time teaching position. -
