    Li Si ordered all books to be burned except for books on astrology, agriculture, medicine, divination, and the history of the Qin state in 213 B.C.E. He did this so scholars wouldn't cmopare his reign to past reigns.

    Shi Huangdi

    Shi Huangdi was the first Chinese emperor in 221 B.C. He was from the western state of Qin. He started the Qin dynasty. He was an extremely cruel ruler, he killed all who were opposed to him in any way and burned almost all the books.

    The ERya is the oldest Chinese dictionary and was cmopleted in 224 B.C. Most of it dates back to the 3rd century B.C. The author is unknown but they think it could be the Duke of Zhou, Confucius, or his disciples.
