  • Roslind Franklin

    Roslind Franklin
She made critical contributions to the understanding of the fine molecular structures of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), RNA, viruses, coal, and graphite. Her DNA work achieved the most fame because DNA plays an essential role in cell metabolism and genetics, and the discovery of its structure helped her co-workers understand how genetic information is passed from parents to their offspring.
  • Fred Griffith

He injected the virulent pneumonia into a mouse and the mouse died. Next he injected the non-virulent pneumonia into a mouse and the mouse continued to live. After this, he heated up the virulent disease to kill it and then injected it into a mouse. The mouse lived on. Last he injected non-virulent pneumonia and virulent pneumonia, that had been heated and killed, into a mouse. This mouse died. This passing on of the inheritance molecule was what he called transformation.
  • Avery,Mccarty,and Mcleod

Oswald Avery, Colin MacLeod, and Maclyn McCarty show that DNA is the transforming material in cells. They demonstrate that the transformation of Streptococcus pneumoniae (strep throat) from an avirulent type to a virulent type is the result of the transfer of DNA from dead smooth organisms to live rough ones.
  • Alfred Hershey, Martha Chase

    Alfred Hershey, Martha Chase
Their experiment helped to confirm that DNA is the genetic material. Hershey and Chase showed that when bacteriophages, which are composed of DNA and protein, infect bacteria, their DNA enters the host bacterial cell, but most of their protein does not. Although the results were not conclusive, and Hershey and Chase were cautious in their interpretation, previous, contemporaneous and subsequent discoveries all served to prove that DNA is the hereditary material.
  • Erwin Chargaff

Erwin came up with the theroy of two main rules that about DNA the two rules wrere,
the nummber of guanine untits equal the same nummber of cytosine. And the same nummber of adenine equal the same nummber of thymine.
witch allwoed him to find out that DNA was composed of a larger nummber of repeats
  • Francis Crick and James Watson

    Francis Crick and James Watson
"Molecular Structure of Nucleic Acids: A Structure for Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid" was the name of this experiment. It was the first publication which described the discovery of the double helix structure of DNA. The discovery had a major impact on biology, particularly in the field of genetics enabling later researchers to understand the genetic code.
  • Meselson and Stahl

Matthew and Franklin came up with the experment that DNA can be replicated.
They found this out by when dobble helix DNA is replicated each of the two new doubble helix DNA consisted of one string of the oragnial DNA.
