Developmental Timeline: How did you become you?

    If a baby's basic needs are met, they develop a sense of basic trust. Ex: Being fed when hungry/comforted when upset.

    Piaget: Sensorimoto (birth to 2 years)

    Experiencing the world through basic senses and developing different phenoma. i.e. Stranger permanence. This applies to me because I would freakout if my parents werent by me.

    Erikson: Toddlerhood (1 to 3 years)

    Autonomy: Autonomy versus shame/doubt. i.e. Solving problems on your own and feelig bad when doing something wrong.

    Kohlberg: Preconventional morality (1 to 9 years)

    Where a child has yet to adopt the moral principles of their society or culture. i.e. When I drew on the white nursing chair with blue sharpie and lied about doing it.

    Piaget: Preoperational (2 to 7 yrs)

    In this stage a child can think about things symbolically, like using symbols to represent words, things, pictures, people, and ideas. As a result of being able to think symbolically. It is essentially being creative.

    Initiative vs Guilt. Preschoolers learning to do as they are told and being independant in doing so or else they feel guilty for not being independant.

    I went to Carrie Busey Elamentary to start my education. During this stage, majority of the psychological development took place.

    Erikson: Competence (6 to 11 yrs)

    Industry vs Inferiority-Takes plce during the years of school, and its where children take a sense of pride in their accomplishments. This is relatable to me because I started to care more about the things id do.

    Piaget: Concrete Operational (7 to 11 yrs)

    In this stage, elementary-age and preadolescent children, aged 7-11 years old, show logical, concrete reasoning. Children at this age gain the skills of Decentering, Conservation, Reversibility, Class-Inclusion, and Relationships.

    Kohlberg: Conventional Morality (10 to 39)

    Early Adolescense to Adulthood. It is when you conform to societal norms, aka fitting in. But the emphasis shifts from self-interest to relationships with other people/social systems. This applies to me in middle school when I cared about fitting in.

    Erikson: Adolesence (12 to 18 yrs)

    Identity vs Role Confusion-Teens develop a sense of self and personal identitiy, Success leads to an ability to stay true to yourself, while failure leads to role confusion and a weak sense of self. This applies to me because I've gone through many phases to get to where I am today.

    Children in this stage may become even more self-conscious and magnify their experiences or circumstances over how others might. A child with a pimple might believe it is bigger than what it is and that others see it the way they do.

    Erikson: Intimacy (19 to 40 yrs)

    Intimacy vs Isolation-Young adults need to form intimate, loving relationships with other people. Success leads to strong relationships, while failure results in loneliness and isolation.

    Kohlberg: Postconventional Morality (20-65 years)

    an individual makes choices based on their own personal beliefs, even if those beliefs are not in accordance with laws or social convention. i.e. when someone stops caring what others think about the choices they make

    Erikson: Generativity (40-65 yrs)

    Generativity vs Stagnation- Adults need to create or nurture things that will outlast them, often by having children or creating a positive change that benefits other people. Success leads to feelings of usefulness and accomplishment, while failure results in shallow involvement in the world.

    Ego Integreity vs Despair- The final psychosocial stage occurs during old age and is focused on reflecting back on life. At this point in development, people look back on the events of their lives and determine if they are happy with the life that they lived or if they regret the things they did or didn't do.
