Christians went to war with the Muslims for the Holy Land. The Christians won and got Jerusalem in 1099. -

There was a peace treaty signed in September of 1192 between the Muslims and the Christians. -

The crusaders were trying to capture Constantinople and fight all enemies of the Christian faith. -

Fifth Crusade
During the fifth crusade Egypt was attacked from all sides by the Crusaders who lost to Muslim defenders by Saladin's nephew. -

Sixth Crusade
In the sixth crusade there was a peace treaty giving control of Jerusalem to the Crusaders until 1239 when the Muslims took back Jerusalem. -

Seventh Crusade
The Crusaders recaptured Jerusalem and controlled it until 1244. -
Jan 1, 1291
Ending of the Crusades
In 1291 the controlling forces of Egypt took control of the region ending the crusades in the Holy Land.
