Cash register
James and John Ritty constructed the first cash register to help businesses keep track of their money. Due to the receipts, embezzlement declined. Ritty, then created the Nation Cash Register company and sold it to John Patterson. Patterson had developed a successful industry out of it. I believe that the cash register is an important technological advancement in our society. It is used everywhere and allows an easy and fast way for businesses to track their sales. -

T.V
The first electronic television was invented by Philo Taylor Farnsworth. He used Cathode Ray Tube and anodes in his invention to help create the transmission. The first image ever transmitted was a line. T.V's are in almost everyone's home and used for entertainment. I remember when I was growing up we had a huge boxy T.V that weighed 200 lbs. Now T.V's weigh at most 100 lb. T.V's were one of the inventions that I have noticed the most change in my lifetime. -
Commercial Computer
UNIVAC produced the worlds first commercially electron computer developed by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly. At this point computers used roughly 5,000 vacuum tubes where as modern day computers use 178 transistors, which replaced the vacuum tubes. We didn't get a family laptop until 2012 instead we had this huge box computer. Computers changed a lot within the last 70 years, where they made life easier and more efficient for people to find information and communicate to one another. -

Tomlinson created the "@" symbol to allow the message to be sent to the correct destination. He developed a new medium to spread communications with individuals in an efficient manner.
