It stated when Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was killed by a Serbian nationalist in Sarajeva, Bosnia. An esculation of threats followed the incident. Germany and Austria-Hungry on one side. (Central Powers) Great Britian, France, Russia, Italy, Japan and later the United States. (Allied Powers) -
trench warfare and the treaty of Versailles
trench warfare was a new way of fighting. They would dig trenches and shoot out of the so that only there head was out. Tsar Nicholas was overthrown due to being a poor ruler. He wasn't giving his people enough food. He was forced to resign, his cabinet begged him. -

After the roaring twenties the stock market crashed and the Great Depression started. Hoovervilles were abonded places that people without houses would live. communism is when the government controls everyone and all of the businesses. communism first came about when Joseph Stalin became dictator. He killed more than 10 million people during his dictation. -

It was founded by Adolf Hitler. It was a large movement when Germany spead terror around the world. Hitler turned Germany into a dictatorship power..They spread German power all around the world. -

Adolph Hitler started a Natzi party. In 1939 Germany invaded Poland. Japan and Italy sided with germany, they were the Axis powers. France, Great Britian, Russia and the USA were the Allied powers. During the Holocaust the Natzis took all of the Jews into consentration camps and abused them. Bombing of Pearl Harbor
At 7:55, 360 Japanese dive bombers come to attack Pearl Harbor. They are successful and almost everything is destroyed. A total of 2,400 Americans were killed and 1,200 were wounded. Japan lost 30 planes and fewer than 100 people. -

The Cold War
There was a big uproar in Europe about how the countries should be ruled. Communism was when the people very few decisions in government actions. Capitalism was when the people could decide on government decisions and issues. There was not much fighting, but a lot of threats. -
North Korea
The war started when North Korea sent over 75,000 troops into South Korea.America helped out South Korea because North Korea was a communist country. Over 5 million soldiers lost there lives in the war. -
Vietnam
During this time, it was the United States against Vietnam. It was a 25 year hard fought war. It ended in 1975 when the Communist of Vietnam defeated the United States. It made the United States lose some confidence in it's army. -
the end of the cold war
The cold war was a fight beetween two nuclear power houses, th USA and the Soviet Union. Before it was declared over in 1990, both countries signed a treaty to get rid of any nuclear weapons.
