The huge computer company, IBM is formed; I chose this because IBM is a big company in the world of computers. -
Vannevar Bush builds the differential analyzer at M.I.T.
The differential analyser is a mechanical analogue computer designed to solve different equations; I chose this milestone because this is the invention that people built aupon to create what we have today, as the calculator. -
IBM introduces the electric typewriter
I chose this Milestone because people built aupon it and made the computer with a keyboard, So if we diddnt have this invention we wouldnt have the ability to type today. -
IBM unveils the SSEC, the Selective Sequence Electronic Calculator
IBM makes the first calculator; I chose this because it is an example of how people have built aupon Vannevar Bush's Differential annalyzer. -
The first real-time computer, is developed by Jay Forrester and his team at MIT
Jays team and him created the first real time computer called the Whirlwind; This is a big milestone because with this invention it gave other people the impression of, hey we can do that too, and from this invention sparked a whole new breed of computers -
Jay Forester develops magnetic memory at M.I.T.
Jay makes the first magnetic stoarage device; I chose this Milestone because it shows that computers are advancing and this invention helped because now people have a way to store memory and keep it safe. -
IBM introduces RAMAC
RAMAC id the first hard disk drive for memory; IBM created a hard disk drive with alot more space, but it is not portable, maybe people will invent a portable version of this in the future.... -
Xerox introduces the first commercial copy machine
Xerox makes the first copy machine; The company Xerox makes the first copying machine, which makes it easier to make copies of documents or create duplacates of things you want to keep safe. -
IBM announces the IBM 1401 computer
IBM makes the 1401 computer, the first computer made by IBM; This is big for IBM because this computer was an example of how people took the Whirlwind computer idea and made it easier to use. -
IBM introduces magnetic disk storage for computers
IBM makes the first Magnetic disk for computers, for sale; This is a big milestone because this is baisically a portable version of IBM's RAMAC which is good but dosent have alot of memory. -
Douglas Englebart develops a working mouse.
The first mouse for computer monitors is made; this is a cool invention because it made scrolling and looking through files on you computer alot easier which revolutionized how we use computers today, Other companies in the future will build off this idea as well, (the trackpad) -
IBM develops the first floppy disk
IBM makes the first floppy disk; now that the first floppy disk is invented people can share files with friends and do it with a tiny flat square, that you can easily fit in you pocket, I used this because it gave a big sense of relief to computer users at this day in age, now they dont have to worry about loosing files because they have a hard copy! -
Apple launches the Macintosh
Apple created the first Apple computer, The Macintosh, it was a big hit because it got a good spot as a commercial on the superbowl; I chose this because it is the first computer to use a graphics interface which makes using a computer alot easier. -
Toy Story is Created!
Toy story is the first ever full-length movie created only with computers.; this is a big milestone because it is the first movie made with only computers, this gives the movie buisness a big jolt because now they know there is more than one way to make a movie. -
Apple releases the iMac
Apple created the I Mac which revolutionized computers everywhere; i chose this as my last milestone because now apple has created a computer using all of the essential products made along the years, (mouses, memory, graphics, ect.) and this invention created the company of Apple to be one of the biggest contributors in the world of computers taday.
