Vaccum Tubes
John Ambrose made the basic working principle of a vacuum tube It works like this, you heat up the metal, and the thermal energy knocks some electrons loose. In 1904 he took advantage of this effect to create the first vacuum tube device, which he called an oscillation valve. -
The 1st Electronic Digital Computer
John Vincent Atanasoff made the 1st electronic digital computer with his graduate assistant Clifford E. Barry. The purpose of testing two ideas central to his design, capacitors to store data in binary form and electronic logic circuits to perform addition and subtraction. -
1st Programmable Computer
Konrad Zuse created the 1st programmable computer to help break codes later on in the years. -
The Transistor
The transistor was made by William Shockley, Walter Houser Brattain, and John Bardeen. The transistor was a much more elegant solution to the needs of electronics. The transistor is small and uses less power than the vacuum tube. Because it uses so little power there is little heat to dissipate and the transistor does not fail as quickly as a vacuum tube. -
Artificial Intelligence
John McCarthy created the first ever AI he believed that AI could solve difficult problems and instructions. -
Integrated Circuits
Integrated Circuit was created by Jack Kilby, Masatoshi Shima, and Robert Noyce. An assembly of electronic components, fabricated as a single unit, in which miniaturized active devices and passive devices and their interconnections are built up on a thin substrate of semiconductor material. The resulting circuit is thus a small chip, which may be as small as a few square centimetres or only a few square millimetres. The individual circuit components are generally microscopic in size. -
The Mouse
Douglas Engelbart, Rene Sommer invented the mouse because he wanted to find an easier way to navigate through the computer desktop and make AI better. -

Steve Jobs invented the first iphone he hated the way cell phones was built so he wanted an upgrade preferably with a touch screen. -
Review
The review of the era of computers is many technology scientist may have worked together to try and improve their work. The old age era may be done but the making and improving of computers is still currently evolving and getting better every year or so.
