    The very first hard disk was created in 1980. Said to be the grandfather of modern hard disks, this technology allows for higher storage capacities, while still being able to fit in a floppy drive chassis, and being more durable than a floppy disk while being able to still store and recover information at faster speeds. Hard disk technology would get the attention of IBM and Apple within the coming years in the decade of 1980 and sell over 4 million units and be adopted by the masses.
  • Commodore 64

    Commodore 64
    Commodore international created the best selling personal computer of all time. This computer came out with advanced graphics for its time and coming with a whole 64kbs of storage. This computer was able to make the masses more productive and be able to produce early PC gaming. Able to utilize software through the floppy disk and being a great commercial success.
  • Apple Lisa Computer

    Apple Lisa Computer
    The Lisa computer was the first PC to introduce a graphical user interface (GUI) and created by Steve Wozniak. Instead of having to input lines of code, someone would be able to visually see what is happening instead of guessing what the line of code says. A GUI would be utilized in every PC afterwards due to its simplicity in design and ease of usability for everyone. No one needed to be a hidden programmer to use a PC.

    This programming language was created to allow programmers and creators to be able to create more complex programs/software. Created by Bjarne Stroustrup, this language would be one of the standards to follow in the later years. Today it is used as a general purpose language for software tools/programs and one of the first languages to learn when starting to program.
  • AI vs Master Chess Player

    AI vs Master Chess Player
    David Levy, an English chess master, was the first to be defeated at chess by a computer. By using a program called "Deep Thought," it had shown the world that advanced AI was possible. Deep Blue would not be famous until '96 when going up in a chess match against the Russian Garry Kasparov under time regulations. This chess match however showed that AI was possible to program and can indeed be smarter than humans in certain ways.
