ABC Computer
The complex number calculator was completed. Stibitz demonstrated the CNC at the American Mathematical Society at Dartmouth college. I selected this because it was a breakthrough because it started a revolution of new computers. -
EDSAC
The first practical stored prorgram was created by Maurice Wilkes. He got most of his ideas at the Moore School Lectures. There was vacuum tubes and it had 17 bits of memory. This was was interesting time because it also started new technology. -
Burroughs buys Electrodata
Burroughs was a calculator manufacturer that bought the Electrodata Corporation. Because of this they were now part of the computer corporation. They then expanded their business from calculators to other digital computers. They were a very big business during this time. -
Silicon Chip
The first silicon chip was created by Jack Kilby & Robert Noyce. The are the reason that we have silicon chips today. -
Unimate
General Motors built the first robot that was industrial.They named it Unimate and they put it to work in a New Jersey factory. -
Email
The first email system was created by Ray Tomlinson. This wasn't very similar to what we have today but it was still an email systemm. -
Apple
Apple computers was founded and created. Steve Wozniak and Steve jobs. They didn't know how much of a sucess they would be in the future. -
Nintendo
Nintendo Entertainment was introduced. They became very popular very quick. -
YAHOO
Yahoo was created in 1994. By this time many people were introduced to computers so Yahoo was popular. -
Amazon
Amazon was created by Jeff Bezos. It has been less then 20 years but yet it is one of the most popular companies in the world. Thanks to Jeff we now have a lot of good technology.
