  • Southern Secession

    southern secession-Southern SecSouth Carolina was the first southern state to start seceding. Mississipi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisana, Texas all went in the month of January, 1861. They left because Abraham Lincoln got elected. After the Battle of Fort Sumter the remaining four states left the union. These included North Carolina, Virginia, Arkansas, and Tennessee.

He was recognized for his efforts in the Valley Campaign and his service as a corps in the Army of Northern Virginia. He was shot by his own army by accident and survived with the loss of his arm. He died later from disease and it was a major putback for the army that was sought on for years.

It went through Georgia and was directed by William Tecumseh Sherman which was a part of the Union army. Sherman’s forces after capturing Atlanta November 16th destroyed and took down military targets as well as bothered the South and their economy. This ended with the capture of the port of Savannah on December 21. This was considered to be changing in the aspects of war.

He was America’s 18th president and his Kodak moment occurred when he received the surrender of General Lee’s army at Appomattox. He was for protecting African American’s and their citizenship. He helped defeat the Ku Klux Klan and their racial efforts. He was also the first to reform the civil service by creating one.
  • Abraham Lincoln

He was the 16th president of the US and served from 1861 to 1865 until he got assassinated in a theatre. He led the US through the Civil War and abolished slavery which could have been the greatest single event in American History.

    54th Regiment (MASS)54th regiment (MASS)this was an infantry regiment that saw serious service in the union army during the war. This included one of the first official black units in the us during the war which recruited blacks from South Carolina that were freed slaves.
